Art 1 is advancing quickly and has begun work on a large still life. We've spent the past several classes learning all about value and developing observational drawing skills using graphite. Students use a viewfinder to choose a composition that features a wide range of values and a variety of forms and textures. Drawing what you actually see instead of what you think you see is harder than you think! So far, these Art 1 kids are pros.
